Instructions

Step 1

To invoke the command line, click the "Start" button or the Windows key with a waving flag, expand all programs in the menu. Select the "Command line" item in the "Standard" folder by clicking on it with the left mouse button.

Step 2

The Windows operating system provides several methods for pasting text. If you are used to using the Ctrl + V or Shift + Insert hotkeys, you will have to forget about them when working with the command line - these combinations do not work here.

Step 3

If you do not want to type text manually, there is only one way - pasting a command with the mouse. Copy the command to the clipboard, call the command line, right-click in the required place and select "Paste" from the context menu. Press Enter to confirm the command.

Step 4

If, for some reason, pasting commands from the clipboard using the mouse does not work for you, change the layout to Cyrillic (this is important) and press Alt + Space + Q on the keyboard. A new "Properties: Command Line" dialog box opens.

Step 5

Go to the "General" tab in it and set the marker in the "Quick Paste" field in the "Editing" group. If you plan not only to paste text into the command line, but also to copy data from it to other documents, also check the "Select with the mouse" item.

Step 6

Click OK to confirm your action. The system will offer you one of the options: "Change the properties of the current window only" (the settings will remain in effect until you close the command line window) or "Change the shortcut to launch this window" (the selected parameters will be applied each time the command line is invoked) …

Step 7

Depending on your needs, mark one of the fields with a marker and click on the OK button. To copy a piece of text from the command line, select it with the mouse and press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C. To copy data, hotkeys are effective.
