Kaspersky Anti-Virus is one of the most widespread programs for protecting computers against all kinds of malicious programs. As a rule, it is distributed electronically and after the trial period requires you to enter an activation code to continue using it. You can get this code through the company's website by paying the amount corresponding to the type of license you need. The procedure for entering the activation code into the installed program is not particularly difficult.
Instructions
Step 1
During the activation process, the program contacts the web server, therefore, before starting to enter the code, make sure that the computer is connected to the global network.
Step 2
Open the main window of the anti-virus program - click on its icon in the tray or select the "Kaspersky Anti-Virus" link in the "All Programs" section of the main menu of the operating system. If the OS includes the Kaspersky Gadget, you can open the application interface by clicking on the green monitor on it.
Step 3
At the bottom right corner of the antivirus interface window, click with the mouse pointer on the inscription "Enter the activation code". On the next page loaded by the program, press the button "Activate the program" and a form with a choice of two options will appear in it - activation of commercial or trial versions.
Step 4
Check the box next to the "Activate commercial version", and then enter the twenty-digit key received from the manufacturer in groups of five characters into the four windows of the form. Click the "Next" button, and the antivirus will send the entered data to the server.
Step 5
Server scripts will check the activation code and return to the computer a special key file with the corresponding license. If any failure occurs in the process of transmitting or receiving data, you will receive a message with the sad title "Activation failed" and two options for further actions. You can click the button "Try again to activate" or go to the site using the link indicated here and get the required file manually by entering the code in the appropriate web form. The file loaded in this way must be transferred to the antivirus using the standard file open dialog - it is launched by clicking the Browse button.
Step 6
After one of the methods of the previous step succeeds in obtaining and installing the license file, information with the type of license and the date of its expiration will appear in the program window. Click the "Finish" button to complete the procedure.
