It is necessary

  • Software:
  • - WinRar;
  • - Total Commander.

Instructions

Step 1

To perform the operation of unpacking a large number of archive files, you need to use special software, for example, WinRar or the file manager Total Commander, which contains the same archiver. The principle of extraction will be the same as in the case of unpacking only one archive - select the files and press the corresponding button to extract them.

Step 2

Before starting the unpacking operation, select the required files, i.e. archives. Selection in "Windows Explorer" is carried out using the left mouse button and special auxiliary keys: Ctrl - selective selection, Shift - continuous selection of several lines. When you press the Ctrl + A key combination, absolutely all files in the open folder will be selected.

Step 3

Call the context menu of the selected files by right-clicking on them. Find and select the "Extract files" line in the list of operations. You will see a window in which you need to specify additional options for the operation to be performed. In the field "Path for extraction" you must specify your own value if the current one does not suit you. To do this, in the right field of the file browser, select the folder to save the work result. If you want to create a new folder in the current directory, click the corresponding button.

Step 4

Click the "OK" button to start unzipping. After a while, the folder you specified will contain all the files from the previously compressed archives. The duration of the operation can last up to several hours (depending on the performance of the computer and the total amount of megabytes of information).

Step 5

In the file manager Total Commander, this operation can be performed in a few clicks. Run the program and in one of the panels find the folder containing the archives. Select them in any way indicated above, and click the top menu "File", and then the item "Unpack" or the keyboard shortcut alt="Image" + F9.

Step 6

In the window that opens, specify the type of files that you want to unpack, for example, if there are several formats in the folder (rar, zip, tz), but you only need to use one. Then specify the directory for unpacking the files, by default it is the open folder on the opposite panel. To start the unzip operation, click the "OK" button and wait for it to finish.
