Many users are faced with a problematic situation when they bought a good sound card, installed it in the computer system unit, but cannot find suitable drivers for it. More often than not, Windows will offer a standard replacement to make you really hear the sound. However, it is possible to reveal the capabilities of the new card only if you select sound drivers that fully correspond to its functionality.
Instructions
Step 1
The first and, perhaps, the most reliable way to find sound drivers is to go to the manufacturer's official website in the Downloads / Downloads section. Then, having selected the model of your sound card, download the installation package of drivers and install them into the system. To complete the installation, you may need to restart your computer, after which you can adjust the sound settings through the "Control Panel".
Step 2
The second way to find sound drivers is to search by hardware ID. Open the "Device Manager" and go to the properties of the sound card. On the Details tab, select the Hardware ID option. In the box below you will see several lines of information. Use the right mouse button to copy the first line and navigate your browser to the driver search site by device code. After pasting the copied line into the designated field, click "Search" and download any driver found from the table of results.
Step 3
If you do not want to engage in independent search of the necessary files, entrust it to special programs. To find sound drivers, use the so-called driver managers. These are small programs that analyze the hardware installed in the computer and search for updated driver versions for each component. Quite a lot of programs of this kind are known. For example, Double Driver, Driver Checker, Driver Genius, DriverPack Solution, SlimDrivers. It's easy to find and download them on the Internet, and many of them are free solutions. After installation, perform a system analysis and the program will display a list of hardware and corresponding drivers that can be updated and installed.
