Every time the ink runs out, refilling a cartridge with ink rather than buying a new one can save you a lot of money. You can buy a bottle of ink that will last for quite some time. You can also save on printing photos. You can buy a few bottles of colored ink and print the photos yourself.

Step 1
The process of refilling cartridges will be considered on the example of a Canon printer. When you purchase ink for a printer, note if your model is among the printer models for which the ink is designed. You need to buy ink specifically for your model, otherwise the printout of the files will be incorrect.
Step 2
Turn on your computer. After the operating system has loaded, press the power button on the printer. Wait a few seconds for it to start. Then open the printer cover, then the printhead carriage will begin to move. Wait for it to stop. When the print head is stationary, remove the cartridge from its slot. To do this, just gently pull it towards you.
Step 3
Place a few newspapers in the area where you will refill the cartridge so that nothing gets dirty. You will need a syringe and needle for this procedure. The capacity of the syringe does not matter. Draw about 5 ml into the syringe. ink. Hold the cartridge with the printhead side facing you. Insert the needle lightly into the print head. It is not necessary to inject strongly. The main thing is to squeeze a little. Now, little by little, use a syringe to inject ink into the cartridge.
Step 4
If you are refilling a color cartridge, then, accordingly, you need to enter several colors of ink there. Each printhead has its own color, according to which ink needs to be injected. After the cartridge is full of ink, put it back in the compartment. To do this, simply insert the cartridge into the slot and push a little until you hear a click. A clicking sound indicates the cartridge is locked. Close the printer cover.
Step 5
Open the printer software and reset the ink level sensor. If you do not do this, then the system will incorrectly display the remaining ink in the cartridge and will not be able to issue notifications about low ink levels.
