Instructions

Step 1

To save files when restoring a partition, it is recommended to use special programs. As an example, let's take a closer look at this process using the Disk Director Suite from Acronis. Download this utility.

Step 2

Install Disk Director and launch it. At the top of the workspace of the program, find the "View" tab and open it. Select manual display mode. Examine the list of existing partitions on hard drives.

Step 3

Find an unallocated area that is approximately the size of the deleted partition. Click on it with the right mouse button. Go to the "Advanced" menu and select the "Recovery" function.

Step 4

A new "Recovery Mode" window will open. Select the "Manual" item and go to the next menu by clicking the "Next" button.

Step 5

If you are sure that the deleted partition was in this area, then you can select the fast search mode. Otherwise, activate the "Full" option. Click "Next".

Step 6

Wait until the search for pre-existing partitions is completed. Select the one that is the same size as the partition you deleted. Click the Next button to complete the Select Partition Wizard.

Step 7

Return to the main toolbar of the program. Open the Operations menu and select Run. A new menu "Pending Operations" will appear on the screen. Check the correctness of the specified recovery options and click the "Proceed" button.

Step 8

The time taken to restore a partition depends on its size and the characteristics of your computer.
