Necessary
Paragon Partition Magic, Windows 7 disc
Instructions
Step 1
First, let's consider the option of changing the number of partitions just before installing the operating system. This method only works with Windows Seven OS.
Step 2
Insert the disc containing the Windows 7 operating system installation files into the drive. Turn on your computer and press the F8 button. When the device selection window appears on the screen, select your DVD drive. Wait for the OS installer to start.
Step 3
In the next two windows, select the options you want. It is advisable to set Russian as the main language. A window with a list of hard disk partitions will appear on the screen. Click the "Disk Setup" button located in the lower right corner.
Step 4
Click on the unnecessary section and click the "Delete" button. In a similar way, get rid of the rest of the sections that you do not need.
Step 5
If you plan not to use the area formed as a result of deleting partitions, then select the local disk where the OS will be installed and click "Next".
Step 6
If you need to add one large section, then click the "Create" button. Select the file system of the future local disk and set its size. Proceed with the installation of the system.
Step 7
In order to remove unnecessary partitions without reinstalling the operating system, you need the Partition Magic program. Install it and restart your computer.
Step 8
Run the program. Select "Quick Merge Sections". Specify the sections that will be involved in the merge process. If you don't need the information stored on them, format them. This will significantly increase the time that will be spent on merging.
Step 9
Click the "Apply" button located on the top toolbar of the program. After a while, a window will appear with two options for further actions. Click the Restart Now button. The program will continue to run in DOS mode.
