In our time of highly developed technologies, one of the most important tasks is the high-quality protection of information. Users store a variety of data on their computer hard drives. Proceedings of many years of work or a personal photo archive - any personal information should be protected from outside viewing or copying. To prevent someone else's access to the disk with information, you can put a password. There are many different utilities that allow you to set a password for a disk. One of these programs, Disk Password Protection, puts protection against intrusion not only on a regular hard disk partition, but also sets a password on the boot disk.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install Disk Password Protection on your computer. Run the installed program. The utility window will open, displaying all available disks on the system.
Step 2
Using the mouse, select in the window the area of the disk intended for closing with a password. Run the "protection wizard" of the program. To do this, select items in the "Protection" - "Wizard …" menu or click the "Wizard" button on the toolbar. The "wizard" window will appear on the screen.
Step 3
Select the type of protected disk in the window. In the corresponding field, select the check box when protecting the boot disk or when setting a password on any other disk. Click the Next >> button.
Step 4
At the next step of the wizard, a list of available disks will appear. Choose the one you need. To do this, click on the corresponding line in the list. Proceed to the next stage - by clicking "Next >>".
Step 5
In the new window, select the type of operation to be performed. To do this, check the box "Set protection". Click the Next >> button.
Step 6
A password entry form will appear. Enter the password and its confirmation in the form fields. If desired, set the hidden protection mode by enabling the checkbox of this mode. Click on the "Next >>" button.
Step 7
The program will set the password and display a corresponding message in the "Protection Wizard" window. The status of the protected disk will change in the main window of the utility. The disc is now protected.
