It is necessary

  • 1. Graphic editor Photoshop (any version)
  • 2. The file with the image to be inserted into the layer
  • 3. The file where you want to insert the image

Instructions

Step 1

Open the document in which you need to insert the image and the file containing the image, which we will insert on a new layer. Select the File menu, the Open item. You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O. These combinations are called "hotkeys" and are very useful for quick work in Photoshop.

Step 2

In the open file, select the part of the image that you want to insert on a new layer in our document. If you need to insert the entire image, select the Select menu, All. You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + A. In case we need to insert only a part of the image on a layer in our document, in the "Tools" panel (by default located on the left side of the window) select the Rectangular Marquee Tool (Rectangular selection). Holding down the left mouse button, select the part of the image that needs to be inserted into the layer.

Step 3

Copy the selected image. Select the Edit menu, Copy. You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C.

Step 4

Go to the document where we are going to insert the image. To do this, set the cursor on the document window opened in Photoshop and click the left mouse button.

Step 5

Paste the copied image. To do this, go to the Edit menu, Past, or use the Ctrl + V keyboard shortcut.

In the document with which we are working, a new layer is automatically created, on which the image is inserted.

Step 6

Don't forget to save the result. There is no autosave function in Photoshop, and it is better to save the work done so that you do not have to do it all over again. In order to save our file, select the File menu, the Save item, or use the Ctrl + S keyboard shortcut.
