Mozilla Firefox is the second most popular browser used on both desktop and laptop computers and mobile devices. It has a very advanced bookmark management system, which, in particular, provides several ways to transfer bookmarks from one browser instance to another. However, it is not necessary for both web browsers to be of the same type.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch your browser and open the "Bookmarks" section in the menu. Select the "Manage bookmarks" item in it to open a separate window, which bears a slightly non-standard name "Collected". This operation is also assigned a personal combination of "hot keys" - ctrl + shift + b.
Step 2
In the menu of the bookmark management window, open the "Import and backup" section and select the "Backup" item. In this way, you will open a standard save dialog, where you need to specify the location for storing the file with bookmarks. By default, the desktop is selected as such a place, and you can change it by opening the drop-down list in the "Folder" field. You cannot change the type of the file into which the bookmark information will be written (only json), and the name given to this file by default can be edited in the "File name" field. When you are ready to create your bookmarks file, click the Save button.
Step 3
Move the created file to a location accessible from the computer where you want to move them. If there is a network connection between the two computers, then it is sufficient to place the file in a folder that can be accessed over the network. In other cases, do not forget about the presence of the Internet - the created file can be placed, for example, on a file sharing server or sent by e-mail. In this case, there will be no need to transfer it from one computer to another on any physical medium. But you can, of course, use a disk, floppy disk, flash drive or mobile phone.
Step 4
Launch Mozilla Firefox on the second computer and reopen the bookmark management window as described in the first step. This time, by clicking on the "Import and Backup" section of the menu, go to the "Restore" section and click on the "Select file" item.
Step 5
Find the transferred file with bookmarks in the standard dialog and click the "Open" button. This completes the bookmark transfer operation.
Step 6
In the same section of the bookmark management window there are two more items that can be used to transfer bookmarks in web document files with the html extension. The "Export to HTML" item is used to save bookmarks, and the "Import from HTML" item is used to load from such a file. This method is especially useful when transferring bookmarks to a browser other than Mozilla Firefox.
