Nowadays, more and more people use personal computers. Many already know how to competently operate a computer, but beginners often have difficulties even with performing basic operations. One of these operations is to open files on a CD or DVD.

Instructions

Step 1

The first thing to do before starting a DVD is to open the drive (DVD-ROM), which is usually built into the computer's system unit, insert the disc into the drive with the face up and close the drive. The disc drive opens and closes by pressing the same button located in the immediate vicinity of it. The front side of the disc differs in that it indicates the type of disc, the name of the manufacturer, etc.

Step 2

Disk launch, like most actions performed by a computer, can be done in several different ways.

The first way is to automatically start the disk. Most versions of the Windows operating system, upon detecting that a new disc is inserted in the DVD-ROM, immediately offer the user options for further action. A new window appears on the monitor screen, where the user is asked to select one of the options offered by the operating system: open a folder to view files, play a video file, do nothing, etc. In this case, the user just needs to left-click on the selected action option and then on the "OK" button located in the lower right corner of this window together with the "Cancel" button. The computer will then perform the user-selected action.

Step 3

The second way is to launch the disc through Explorer. On the "desktop" of almost any computer there is an icon "My Computer". After double or single (depending on the settings) left-clicking on this icon, a window appears on the monitor screen, in which the hard disks and devices available for viewing are listed. To start a DVD, select the name “DVD-drive” from the list presented (possibly another, similar name) and click on it once or twice in a row with the left mouse button. After that, a list of files recorded on the disc currently in the drive will appear on the monitor screen. To open a particular file, you must also click on it with the left mouse button.

Similarly, you can start the disc using any file manager, for example, Total Commander. Each file manager can act as a "Explorer"

Step 4

The third way is to launch the disc through a program designed to view files of this type. For example, video files can be viewed using Media Player Classic, KM Player, etc. If a video file is recorded on the DVD, then you need to launch one of these programs to view it. Then, in the menu of this program, you need to select the command "Open" or "Open file" ("Open" or "Open file") and in the window that appears, specify the path to the required file. In most programs, this path can be specified by clicking in the window that appears on "My Computer" - "DVD-drive" - "File name".

After a few repetitions of the above steps, launching DVDs will be easy for the user.
