Connecting the projector to a computer is not much different from connecting a PC to a second monitor. Despite this, this process has its own nuances that need to be taken into account.

Step 1
Check the quality of the projector. If the device is capable of processing a digital signal and displaying a sufficiently high-quality picture, then it is wiser to use a digital data transmission channel. If only analog ports are located on the projector, then sometimes it is more logical to switch the monitor to the digital port of the video card. Perform the required actions on the monitor.
Step 2
If your video card has VGA and DVI ports, and both devices (monitor and projector) have VGA ports only, then purchase an additional DVI-VGA cable. This will lower the picture quality, but will allow both devices to be connected at once. Connect the projector to an available graphics card slot. Install this device in the desired location. Connect the projector to AC power and turn it on.
Step 3
Turn on the personal computer and wait until the operating system is loaded. If you are using Windows Seven, then open Control Panel and select the Appearance and Personalization menu. Open the "Display" menu and select "Connect to external display". Click the "Find" button located at the top of the window that opens. Wait for the projector to be detected.
Step 4
Select the graphic image of the computer monitor and activate the item "Make this screen the main one". When working with a projector, it is common to output an identical image to both devices. Activate the Duplicate Screen option. If you were unable to connect the projector using the described method, then in the "Display" menu, select "Connect to Projector". In the menu that appears, select the Duplicate option.
Step 5
The computer monitor and projector resolutions are automatically aligned. If the monitor worked with a resolution of 1366x768, and the projector only supports 1280x720, then the quality of the image displayed on the monitor will be significantly reduced. If you are using a digital projector that supports HD format, this problem should not occur.
