So much information has accumulated on your computer that sometimes it can be quite difficult to find the file or folder you need. There are standard yellow folders all around, and searching by name with tired eyes at the end of the day will irritate even the most patient person. However, the Windows operating system also offers an easy solution to the problem - you can set your own special image for each folder.
Instructions
Step 1
To customize the appearance of folders, you need to make general settings in the system. Find the folder you want to change the look of. Right-click on it and select Properties from the menu. Go to the "Settings" tab and click on the "Change Icon" button at the bottom of the window. A window with standard shortcut pictures will appear. You can choose one of the proposed options.
Step 2
It is also worth noting that this operation applies only to the selected folder, that is, you will have to configure the parameters for each item, since the "Folder view" is not defined for all folders in the system. If the standard pictures are not enough for you, click the "Browse" button. The system will prompt you to indicate the location where to search for the desired image file. It should be a special small icon file with the lnk extension.
Step 3
If you do not have such a file, you can find a variety of icon designs on the Internet.
Step 4
Select the appropriate file and click "OK", close the shortcut selection window, also clicking "OK". The look of your folder is now unusual and easily recognizable. If you change your mind or want to return to the default look of the folder, follow these steps again and select the image that suits you.
Step 5
You can also set the picture to the background of the folder by selecting the "Select file" item in the "Properties" window of the "Settings" tab. The picture you have chosen will flaunt against the background of the folder. Now you can always easily find the folders you want without using options such as "Search". At any time, you can rename the folder, change the shortcut, change the picture, so try to create conditions for the location of folders for yourself.
