A shortcut is a special type of file on a computer that allows you to quickly access the desired object. It stores information about the path to the desired folder or file and can be moved or changed at the request of the user.
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing you can do with any shortcut is rename it. This is done in a standard way, by right-clicking on the shortcut and selecting the "Rename" item.
Step 2
The next step is to change the picture of the shortcut. This is very convenient for organizing data on a computer, for example, the "Music" shortcut looks like a note symbol and leads straight from the desktop to a folder with your favorite songs. To select the desired picture, you need, again, to right-click on the shortcut of interest and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu. Then you need to go to the "Shortcut" tab and click the "Change Icon" button. Then you can choose from the proposed system list or find through the "Browse" any of your images.
Step 3
In the same way, you can change the appearance of the icon of any folder, the difference is that in the "Properties" menu you will need a tab not "Shortcut", but "Settings", and then everything is similar to the above item.
Step 4
You can also remove arrows from the labels, many do not like them. This is done through editing the registry as follows: "Start" -> "Run" -> enter "regedit" and click OK. In the opened document, find the HKEY_SLASSES_ROOTLnkfile branch and remove the isShortcut parameter from it. After restarting the computer, the arrows from the shortcuts will disappear.
