Instructions
Step 1
Go to stardock.com/products/iconpackager for information on IconPackager, one of Stardock's many products. Click on the blue Download button, in the next window - on it. You will be taken to another site download.cnet.com, click the green Download Now button on it. Download the program and install it. This is a free 30-day version of the program, but it should be enough for you.
Step 2
Open the program. After starting, a window may appear asking you to make changes to the computer, click "Yes" in it. There are four tabs at the top of the program: Look & Feel, Icons & Cursors, Settings and About, select the first one. The Look & Feel tab, in turn, also has four items: Icon Packages, Preview, Colors and Live Folders. Also choose the first one - Icon Packages.
Step 3
Find a list of suggested icon sets at the bottom of the window. To the left is a set of Windows Default Icons, and underneath it says By: Microsoft (from Microsoft) is what you need. Select it by single clicking on it with the left mouse button.
Step 4
Install this set. This can be done in four ways. The first is to double-click on the set icon with the left mouse button. Second, right-click on it once and select Apply Icon Package from the context menu. Third - click on the Apply Icon Package button, which is located in the upper right corner of the program. And fourth - click on the Apply Icon Package button, which is located to the left of the image showing the icons. Another window will appear in which the program will warn you about the brief disappearance of the taskbar and icons on the desktop, click OK in it. After a while, all the icons of the operating system will regain their standard appearance.
