Place the cursor in the cell of the spreadsheet where the exponentiation result should be displayed. Go to the "Formulas" tab of the spreadsheet editor and click on the middle button of the right-hand column of icons in the "Function Library" group of commands - when you hover the mouse pointer over it, the "Mathematical" tooltip pops up.

This button opens a long list of built-in Excel functions related to math operations - choose Degree. After that, the function creation wizard form will appear on the screen. This form can be called in another way, if you use the button fₓ - "Insert function" - at the left edge of the formula bar. It opens a window in which you need to set the value "Math" in the "Category" field, and then select the same function "Degree" in the same long list. This method, although one step longer, can be used from any tab on the Excel menu.

Step 3

In the "Number" field of the form opened in the previous step, enter the initial value that you want to raise to a power. If it should not be a constant value, but the content of a cell in the table, indicate its address. This can be done manually or by clicking on the desired cell with the mouse pointer. You can also put a formula here, for example, summing a range of cells or calculating their average value. True, you will have to type the functions used in the formula yourself, without the participation of the formula wizard.

Step 4

Go to the next field of the form and enter the exponent. As in the previous step, you can put a constant value, a cell reference, or a formula here.

Click OK and Excel displays the exponentiation result.

In addition to the "Degree" function, the spreadsheet editor also understands the operation written using the common notation, in which the original number and exponent are separated by "cap" - ^.
