To set up your own proxy server, you need to configure the network adapter settings. At the same time, other computers connected to it must access the Internet. This process can be carried out without the help of additional programs.
Instructions
Step 1
You should not configure a proxy for an unverified network. If the computers that need to provide access to the Internet and your PC are on the same local network, then simply share the network adapter connected to them. Open the Network and Sharing Center.
Step 2
Go to the properties of the network card that is connected to the required local network. Make sure its parameters are set correctly. Now open your internet connection properties.
Step 3
Select the "Access" tab. Find the item "Allow other network users to use this computer's internet connection." Check the box next to it. On the next line, select the local network for which you want to share.
Step 4
Considering the fact that you set up a proxy server on your computer, the function of automatically issuing suitable IP addresses is unlikely to be active. The problem is that many ISPs require activation of the automatic IP address acquisition option. Press the Win and R keys. Type cmd in the window that appears and press the Enter key.
Step 5
Now write the ipconfig / all command and press the Enter key. Find the internal IP address of your network adapter. Write down its meaning. Now open the settings of the network adapter of the other computer that needs to provide a connection to the proxy server.
Step 6
Navigate to TCP / IP Internet Protocol Settings. Check the box next to Use the following IP address. Specify the value of the IP address, which will differ from the proxy server address with the last digit.
Step 7
Fill in the lines "Default gateway" and "Preferred DNS server" with the value of the IP address of the proxy server. Configure the rest of the computers on your network in the same way.
