To reduce the amount of information or for ease of sending by e-mail, files are often placed in archives. One of the most popular is the ZIP format. But even with its opening, difficulties may arise.
Instructions
Step 1
In operating systems of the Windows family, ZIP files can be opened using standard tools - Windows Explorer. To do this, double-click on it with the left mouse button, or right-click and select "Open with" -> "Explorer".
Step 2
ZIP is an archive file format, respectively, such a file can be opened using any software archiver. Right-click on the file, select "Open With", and then select the archiver application. If it is not in the appeared list of programs, click on the menu item "Select program". In the dialog box that appears, find the file of the archiver program and select it by double-clicking the left mouse button.
Step 3
You can also open a ZIP file using the shell of the archiver itself. To do this, launch the application and, using the program interface, find the required ZIP file. Double-click on it with the left mouse button to open it.
Step 4
If you are using one of the file managers instead of the standard Windows Explorer, you can open the ZIP file using it. Run the corresponding program and use its interface to find the required file. Double click the left mouse button to open the ZIP file. Its contents will appear in the shell of the file manager.
Step 5
Most popular operating systems, in addition to Windows, also have native support for ZIP files. To open them, it is enough to use the standard tools of these operating systems, or archiving programs written to work in these operating environments.
Step 6
A non-standard way to open a ZIP file is using the web interface of one of the mail services (for example, Yandex). Go to the mail and create a new letter. Attach the required ZIP file to it and send to yourself. Open your inbox and click on the "View" link next to the attached ZIP archive. A list of files in the archive will appear, each of which can be saved to your computer's hard drive.
