There are times when the user is not satisfied with the memory of one or more logical drives. For example, you bought a computer, and there the hard drive of the hard drive is divided into two logical drives, and the amount of memory of the logical drive C is one hundred gigabytes. You know for sure that most of this memory will not be required, since only programs will be written to this disk. Therefore, part of the memory from logical drive C needs to be transferred to other logical drives.

Instructions

Step 1

To change the volume of logical disks, you will need a special utility. Download and install the Partirtion Magic app on your computer. Now, in the context menu of hard disk partitions, you will have access to new operations.

Step 2

Go to "My Computer" and select the disk, the amount of memory of which will be reduced, by clicking on it with the right mouse button. In the menu that opens, select the Operations command, followed by the Resuze / Move line. A menu will appear where you will see the structure of the selected partition, which includes the amount of used and free space. Please note that only free space can be taken away.

Step 3

Then click on the line Free Space Before and in the value line select 0. Then select the line New Size and enter the desired amount of hard disk. After that, pay attention to the Free Space After line. You don't need to write any values here. Upon completion of the operation, this item will be filled in automatically. Now save your settings. After exiting the program, you will receive a new amount of logical disk memory. But do not forget that you now have free disk space, which means you can create another partition.

Step 4

Click on the Unallocated line (program menu), then go to the Create Partition item. Then select the Create As line, then the Primary Partition item. Pay attention to the line Size. Here you need to enter the size of the logical disk. This parameter should not be changed (leave it as default), since it is not desirable to create more than three logical disks. The program will define all free space on a new logical disk.

Step 5

After changing the volume of logical disks, the computer will restart. Do not press any keys during this time. Upon completion of the reboot, the logical disks will have the new amount of memory.
