It is customary to create local networks for the rapid exchange of information between laptops and computers, to create common resources, as well as to provide synchronous access to the Internet for the above devices.
Necessary
Wi-Fi router, network cables
Instructions
Step 1
In order for the local network to have all the above properties, use a Wi-Fi router to create it. This device will allow you to connect to the network and stationary computers, and devices equipped with wireless communication adapters. Select a router.
Step 2
Refer to the technical specifications of the wireless adapters. Pay particular attention to the types of radio signals and data encryption they support. Install a Wi-Fi router and connect the device to an electrical outlet.
Step 3
Connect to LAN (Ethernet) channels all stationary computers that will be part of the future network. Connect the Internet access cable to the WAN (DSL, Internet) connector.
Step 4
Turn on one of the computers connected to the Wi-Fi router and open the browser. Find the standard IP address of the device in the instructions and enter it into the address bar of the browser.
Step 5
The display will show the web-based interface of the router's Wi-Fi settings. Open the Internet Setup menu. Change the parameters of the necessary items to ensure the connection of the router with the Internet. Save the settings.
Step 6
Open the Wireless Setup menu. Configure the settings in this menu to meet the requirements of the wireless adapters connected to the router. Save the settings.
Step 7
Reboot your Wi-Fi router. Sometimes this requires disconnecting the equipment from the mains. Turn on the device, go to its web interface and make sure that the Internet connection is stable. Connect laptops to the created Wi-Fi hotspot.
