You can determine the application suitable for a particular document, guided by the instructions of the Internet or by performing a file association when installing certain programs on your computer.

Instructions
Step 1
Right-click on the file for which you want to add an application to open within the current operating system. Select the "Open with" item and use the "Browse" button in Program Piles to select the program that opens this file format and will be convenient for you for further use by default.
Step 2
When installing this or that program, for example, programs for performing actions with files of multimedia formats (Nero, K-Lite Codec Pack, DivX, Alcohol, Media Player Classic, and so on), check the boxes at a certain stage of the installation, the files of which format you would like open by default with one or another program, after which the files will be associated and they will be assigned shortcuts relating them to this or that program to open.
Step 3
You can change this parameter by right-clicking on the file, choosing "Open With", then simply specify the new program that you would like to open this document by default. Check the box next to "Use for all files of this type". Save your changes.
Step 4
If you do not know which program opens a particular document, enter its extensions into the search bar of the browser, after which you can view the programs that open this file format in the results obtained. To view its extension, in the folder properties uncheck the option "Hide extensions for registered file types" and apply the changes.
Step 5
Download the program you need to open on your computer and assign it the default opening as described above. Remember that if a file of a certain resolution exists, then you can find the program that opens it, or if you have certain skills, study its structure and create an application to open it yourself.
