Desktop computers, or nettops, have become widespread due to their low cost and compactness. These devices are perfect for use as an office PC or home multimedia station.
Necessary
- - crosshead screwdriver;
- - flat screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
The main disadvantage of nettops is the relatively weak power of their components. Fortunately, most desktop computers are fairly easy to upgrade. This is due to the free space inside the case and the ease of disassembling the computer. Unplug your Acer Revo nettop from AC power.
Step 2
Locate a small screw on one side of the computer case and use a Phillips screwdriver to remove it. Remember that self-mechanical intervention in the structure of the nettop can lead to the loss of warranty.
Step 3
Now take a flat head screwdriver. Using a tool, carefully detach the front wall of the nettop from the case. This procedure must be performed with the surface on which the computer manufacturer's logo is located.
Step 4
Be careful not to damage the latches when removing the cover. Loops and wires are not connected to this element of the case, so you can safely disconnect the wall from the device. Inside the case, you will find the following connectors:
- two slots for connecting RAM modules;
- port for connecting a hard disk 2.5-inch format;
- mini-PCI Express slot.
Step 5
If you want to increase the amount of RAM, then remove the standard modules, each of which is 1 GB. Install new planks in their place. This nettop supports two 2GB modules.
Step 6
To increase the permanent memory of your desktop computer, disconnect the hard drive and replace it with a similar larger drive. In addition, you can replace the standard Wi-Fi module with a similar device that supports work with an 802.11 n channel.
Step 7
Replace the housing cover after replacing the required devices and tighten the retaining screw.
