Step 1
Often, laptop owners face the question of replacing the RAM. It is very often simply not enough. Therefore, you can not buy a new one, but simply improve the existing laptop. To change the RAM, you must first determine exactly where it is located. We are looking for such information in the manual for the laptop or on the Internet. Often, the RAM is hidden by a cover located on the back of the device. But in some models, the memory may be under the keyboard or near the motherboard itself. In this case, you will have to partially disassemble the laptop.
Step 2
If the slots for the RAM modules are on the bottom, and they are covered with a lid, then just take a screwdriver and unscrew the bolts. We first remove the battery. Then we take out the plastic cover. We can see one or more SO-DIMM or SO-SIMM RAM modules. These are analogs of memory for desktop PCs, only shortened in length. We move aside the latches and carefully remove the modules. Then we put new ones in the same way and fasten the lid. Ready.

If the RAM is located under the keyboard or near the motherboard, then it will be a little more difficult. We'll have to disassemble the laptop. Most often, the disassembly process starts from the front panel. We remove the battery, unscrew the bolts that hold the panel. Then we turn the laptop over and remove the panel. Before us will be the bolts that hold the keyboard. We unscrew them, move the keyboard aside. If you want to remove it completely, you will need to disconnect the ribbon cable that goes to the motherboard. Next, we are looking for a steel panel that hides the RAM.
