Step 1
Begin the procedure for removing the keyboard by removing the top panel under the monitor screen. To do this, unscrew the three screws in the section where the laptop battery is located. Turn the computer over, unscrew another bolt from its back cover.
Step 2
Lift the panel up by prying the edges with your fingers or a non-sharp knife. When doing this, carefully unclip the holders. Carry out the operation with the utmost care, since the holders are made of a thicker plastic layer than the entire panel - this makes it quite fragile.
Step 3
Unscrew the remaining four screws with a screwdriver, carefully remove the keyboard. Try to move slowly so as not to damage the cables from the keyboard to the motherboard.
Step 4
Disconnect the keyboard cable. Be extremely careful - hold it by the base.
Step 5
If you disassembled the keyboard for cleaning, use a vacuum cleaner with a miniature attachment for hard-to-reach places. Turn on the vacuum cleaner in blowing mode. You can also clean the keyboard and the gaps between the keys with a cotton swab. In general, the procedure for cleaning the keyboard itself is not an easy task. Complete disassembly with removal of the keys in Sony laptops is not recommended, since the fasteners inside are rather fragile and have a complex structure. For these purposes, it is best to contact a specialized service center.
Step 6
If you decide to do this at your own peril and risk, start a complete disassembly of the keyboard, starting from the top of it. Carefully study how the internal components of the button are fixed, how the spring element is installed. In no case do not lose any of the small parts, since you will hardly be able to find the same ones for replacement in the future.
