Converting videos from one format to another can be useful when you need to dump movies, clips and other videos to your phone. Even the newest phone models may not support all video formats. Then, to view video files of this type on your phone, you need to convert the desired video to exactly the format that the mobile phone supports.

Step 1
In order to convert a video, an appropriate program must be installed on the computer. The simplest and most accessible program for beginners is SimpleDivx. The program is distributed completely free of charge, so it will not be difficult to find SimpleDivx on the Internet and download it.
Step 2
After downloading, install the program on your computer. After the first launch, go to the Setup tab and select the Language tab. Select Russian from the list of suggested languages. Now the program works in Russian.
Step 3
Click on the "At the entrance" tab in the upper menu of the program. A window will appear. To the right of the word "Folder" click on the button. You will have access to all files on your computer. Select the file you want to convert. Converting a video can be done directly from a disc in an optical drive, but in this case the process will be very time-consuming, so it is better to save the file to your hard drive first.
Step 4
After selecting the file, click on the "Video" tab, and in it on the "Output format" item. Select the format you need to convert the video file from the list.
Step 5
Then select the item "Project", and in it the item "Project name" and enter a name for the current conversion project. Then select the line "Output folder". This will include already converted ready-made files with the format you need.
Step 6
Then select the Exit option and press the Start command. The converting process will start. Conversion status is displayed using the bottom bar. Upon completion, the files will be located in the folder that you specified in the Output Folder parameter. This is the easiest way to convert movies. The SimpleDivx program has extensive additional features that can be explored in the program menu.
