Perhaps you are familiar with the situation when you download a game, video, etc. from the Internet, and there is a file in the folder with the bin and cue permission. The point is that bin is a virtual disk image format, and cue is a file pointing to the image. While most users are familiar with virtual ISO disk formats, many may have problems with bin files. To use such files, they must first be written to a regular optical disc or mounted.

Necessary

  • - optical disc;
  • - Alcohol 120 program.

Instructions

Step 1

In fact, problems arise due to the fact that not everyone knows that this is the same virtual disk image. Here's how to burn a bin file to an optical disc.

Step 2

To get started, you need a program for working with virtual disks. Download the Alcohol 120 program from the Internet. You need to download the latest versions of the program that support the bin file format. You can download a free licensed version of the program from the Internet, but with a limited period of use, or pay for a license. Install Alcohol and restart your computer.

Step 3

Launch Alcohol 120. After launching in its main menu, select "Record from images". A browse window will appear. In this window, use the browse button to select the bin file that you want to burn to disk. Click on it with the left mouse button, and the file will be highlighted. Then, at the bottom of the program window, click "Open". Insert a blank disc into the optical drive. Then proceed further.

Step 4

In the next window, leave all the parameters unchanged, then click "Start". After that, the process of recording the selected file will begin. After the bar of the recording process reaches the end, the message “Recording operations completed” will appear. You now have a disk that is a complete copy of the disk from which the bin file was created.

Step 5

Also, the bin file can be mounted without writing to a virtual drive that was created by the program. Select "Search Images" from the menu. A window with the found disk image files will appear. Select the desired bin file. Then add the image of the file to the menu of the Alcohol 120 program. Now it is in the right window. Right-click on the image and then click Mount to Device. In a few seconds, the image will be mounted and you can open it like a regular disk.
