Nowadays, anyone can try himself as a director. Moreover, all the tools available for this are practically at hand. Well, or they are waiting for the future Spielbergs and Polanski on the store shelves. One such tool is Sony Vegas 10 video editor.

Necessary

Sony Vegas 10 program

Instructions

Step 1

Open the program and import the files on the basis of which you want to make a video. To do this, click the File> Import> Media menu item. You can find out the list of formats that the Sony Vegas editor can operate by clicking on the drop-down menu "Files of type". As you can see, among them there are not only video formats (avi, wmv, avc, etc.), but also graphic image formats (jpeg, bmp,.

Step 2

All imported files will appear in the Project Media panel. Drag and drop a video file from there to the so-called "timeline" - this is an area at the bottom of the program, the top of which is framed by a timeline. As you can see, after moving the file, two tracks appeared in the timeline (or maybe even more if this video includes several audio tracks): video and audio. At the moment they form a single whole, but they can be disconnected: right-click on the track you want to "unstick" and press the U hotkey. To merge again, holding Ctrl, select both tracks and press G.

Step 3

To make a digital film, it will be difficult for you to do without editing, and the very essence of editing is cutting the video into pieces and further manipulating those pieces. Open the viewport by pressing Alt + 4 hotkeys, so it will be easier for you to take up editing.

Step 4

Click with the left mouse button in the place of the track where you are going to make a cut. For more precise adjustments, use the Left and Right keys on your keyboard. Press S to make an incision. Now you have two pieces of video, which you can manipulate in the same way as an entire video track: move, cut, etc. You can do the same actions with graphic and audio files.

Step 5

If you need to add titles, first create a new (so far empty) video track: right-click in the free space of the timeline and select Insert video track from the menu that opens. Now right-click in an empty space of the newly created track and select Inset text media from the list. A new window will appear in which you can adjust the size, font, position and other properties of the titles. When finished with the settings, just close the window. Remember, for the title track to be visible, it must always be on top of the rest of the video tracks.

Step 6

Using the description from the previous steps of the instruction, try to create your own combination. To save the result, click the File> Render as menu item, specify the path to save, in the "Files of type" field, specify the required format and click "Save". A new window will appear showing the rendering process. After its completion, click on the Open folder button to move to the save folder and evaluate the result.
