Antivirus software for a modern computer is not a luxury, but a necessity. Even if you do not have an Internet connection, flash drives, disks and other devices for transferring information are still a potential threat to the working state of your computer. One of the popular antiviruses is Nod32. It can be installed, but without being connected to the network, it will not update. And old anti-virus databases can miss new malicious programs. In such cases, it is worth setting up a local update for Nod32.

Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the actual databases for the update. They must be downloaded from a friend, acquaintance, or colleague directly from the folder with the updated antivirus. Although it is better to use another method - write to a disc or flash drive in an Internet club, at work, that is, where there is Internet access.

Step 2

Open the search engine page in any convenient browser. Enter the phrase "nod32 offline database" in the search bar. This option is the most convenient and simple. When the download is over, copy the antivirus databases folder to your USB flash drive.

Step 3

So, you already have fresh databases, copy them to your computer. When you copy, create a folder on the D drive with any name in Latin characters, for example UPDATE. Unzip your updates into it.

Step 4

Now configure your antivirus to update from the folder. Open the main Nod32 window. Double click on the program icon next to the clock in the lower right corner of the screen. Select "Settings". The program settings window will open. Click on the "Updates" menu, it is in the column on the left side. The details of this item will be shown on the right side.

Step 5

Find the line that says "Update Server" and the "Change" button to the right. Click this button and select the folder where you saved the databases (UPDATE). Then press the inscription "Add" and at the bottom of the window. The path to your folder will appear under the heading "List of update servers", that is, D: / UPDATE. Confirm your choice by clicking on "OK" and "OK" again in the program settings window. Leave the Username and Password fields blank - they are not used for local updates.

Step 6

In the main window of the program, click the "Update" or "Updates" button. If you did everything correctly, the progress bar of updating the anti-virus databases will appear.

Step 7

If you have an older version of Nod32, it's best to download and install the latest version of the program. Since updates should be designed specifically for your version of antivirus, and for the old Nod 32, new databases are not easy to find.
