Some users have to use two modems at once when working with networks in the ADLS format. Most often this is due to the fact that one device simply cannot withstand the load, which leads to malfunctions in its operation.
Necessary
- - ADSL modems;
- - network cables;
- - DSL switch.
Instructions
Step 1
For a synchronous connection to the provider via different channels, you must use two modems at once. Most often, this method is used when setting up a free ByFly connection and standard Internet access. Purchase a special DSL switch for two outputs.
Step 2
Connect this equipment to a telephone line cable. Connect your DSL modems to the free ports of the switch. To do this, use the appropriate device channels.
Step 3
Purchase an additional network card. Connect it to your computer. Connect the LAN ports of your DSL modems to different network adapters. To do this, use patch cords with straight crimp connectors.
Step 4
Configure both DSL modems one at a time. Configure the first device so that you can access Internet resources through it. When configuring the second modem, set the parameters required to connect to local servers. Sometimes a second modem can be used to connect using a free login.
Step 5
Open the properties of your computer's network adapters. Be sure to set each of them to a unique IP address value. In no case should they be the same. In addition, these values must be different from the IP addresses of the modems.
Step 6
After completing all the above procedures, restart your computer and both DSL modems. Check the ability to connect to local resources and Internet servers. Change the metric of the network adapters if you still cannot access the internet.
Step 7
To do this, in the properties of the TCP / IP protocol, click the "Advanced" button. Disable automatic metric assignment. Enter the number 1 for a network card connected to the internet. For the other adapter, set the metric value to two.
