Restoring standard games in Windows XP may be required if you use a non-standard build or if you experience system problems. This process does not require special knowledge in the computer field and does not take much time.
Necessary
- - Windows XP;
- - Windows XP installation disc.
Instructions
Step 1
Insert the Windows XP installation disc into the drive.
Step 2
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "Control Panel" item.
Step 3
Select the Add or Remove Programs section and click the Add Windows Components button to invoke the Windows Components Wizard Tool.
Step 4
Specify the "Standard and Utilities" section in the window that opens and click the "Contents" button.
Step 5
Apply the checkbox to the "Games" field to install all games and click the OK button to confirm the execution of the command. Click the Next button to confirm your choice.
Step 6
Specify the "Games" section (without using the checkbox) and apply the checkboxes in the fields of the desired games for custom installation of games. Press the OK button and press the OK button again to confirm the execution of the selected command. Click the Next button to confirm your choice.
Step 7
Uncheck the Games box with a white background (games installed) to remove all games and click OK to confirm the command. Click the Next button to confirm your choice.
Step 8
Select the "Games" section with a white background (without clearing the checkbox) and uncheck the boxes of the selected games to selectively delete the items in this section. Press the OK button to confirm the execution of the command and again confirm your choice by pressing the Next button.
Step 9
Uncheck the box next to Games with a gray background (one or more games are installed) to remove all games and click OK to apply the changes. Confirm your choice by pressing the OK button a second time and press the Next button to execute the command.
Step 10
Specify the "Games" section with a gray background (one or more games are installed) without unchecking the "Games" field and use the checkboxes on the fields of the selected games to selectively delete items from the list of this section. Confirm your choice by pressing the OK button and apply the changes made by pressing the OK button a second time. Click the Next button to confirm the command execution.
