The main task of the Daemon Tools program is to create and work with ready-made images of various formats, obtained depending on the application in which they were created. In addition, this software is able to create virtual disks and emulate work with them.
To create an image using the Daemon Tools program and burn it to disk, follow these steps. Download the application from the Internet and install it on your computer.
After installation, you can start creating the image. Insert the disk from which the image will be taken into the drive, and then run the Daemon Tools program.
Creating a disk image using the Daemon Tools burn wizard
In the main window of the program, find the "Create disk image" icon. The names of this instrument may differ in different versions of the program. It can also be called, for example, "New Image". This will launch the recording wizard.
Make sure to select the optical drive that contains the source disc. Configure an option such as "Output image file", specify where the image will be saved, as well as the name and format of the image file. Then press the "Start" button. After that, the process of creating an image will start, which will take several minutes. Wait for it to end.
Now insert a clean disc without mechanical damage to the surface into the drive. Next, find the "Open Image" icon on the toolbar. Specify the path to the file of the created image in the dialog box, and then load it into the program. The content will be reflected in the directory tree in one of the visual fields of the program. In the options, you must specify the target device, that is, the optical drive that contains a blank CD for recording the image.
Click on the "Record" button. In the window that opens, select the appropriate settings (speed, finalization, etc.), then click OK. The burning process starts and may take some time. In order for the program not to interfere with continuing to work with the computer, you can minimize it or select the "Background mode" checkbox. In the latter case, the program will hide in the tray, and when the process is over, it will unfold again. After the message "Operation completed successfully" appears, you can close the Daemon Tools program and remove the storage medium from the drive.
Writing an image through the Daemon with two drives
If there are two optical drives installed on the computer, the process of creating and recording an image can be combined. To do this, install a storage medium in one of the drives, from which the image will be created, and in the second, a blank one, on which it must be written. And then in the dialog box for creating a new image, you must specify the second drive with a blank disk as a place to save the image.
