The Windows XP operating system supports the ability to work with a remote computer. This system function is called "Remote Desktop". Using this tool, you can, for example, while at home, work with programs left running at work, or monitor on one computer the simultaneous work of several users working with different applications.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the "System Properties" window, go to the "Remote Use" tab, in the "Remote Desktop Control" section, check the "Allow remote access to this computer" checkbox.
Step 2
You need to add users who will have access to the desktop remotely. To do this, in the "Remote use" tab, click on the "Select remote users" button, in the window that opens, click the "Add" button, then enter the name of the user to be added. In place of direct addition of names, you can search for users of the system. To do this, in the "Select: Users" window, click the "Advanced" button, in the window that opens, perform a search by clicking the appropriate button.
Step 3
To connect to Remote Desktop, select Remote Desktop Connection from the Start menu.
Step 4
In the window that opens, enter the name or IP address of the computer to which you want to connect and click the "Connect" button, then you will need to enter your name and password to connect. You can configure the connection parameters by clicking the "Parameters" button. In the options window, you can configure local resources, display and performance.
