Kaspersky Anti-Virus is one of the most reliable and popular programs of its kind. Like any other antivirus, Kaspersky has a self-defense option, that is, it does not allow other programs or users to modify or destroy their files. But sometimes the self-defense mode needs to be disabled.
Instructions
Step 1
There are a number of cases in which you need to disable the self-defense of Kaspersky Anti-Virus. For example, if you want to free up some hard disk space by deleting its traces. It's actually very simple to do, and the whole process shouldn't take you more than two minutes.
Step 2
Right-click on the antivirus icon in the left corner. In the menu that appears, select the "Settings" item. You will be presented with a window for configuring general protection parameters, which consists of such tabs as "Protection", "Check", "Update" and "Parameters". Choose the last one.
Step 3
In the "Options" window, you will see the "Enable Self-Defense" option. There is a checkbox opposite it. This means that the anti-virus self-defense is enabled and protects the program files from being changed. Uncheck the box and click on the "OK" or "Apply" button. After that, the program window can be closed. You can also enter the settings window from the main antivirus window. The corresponding button is located in the upper left corner.
Step 4
Remember that self-defense must be reactivated as soon as you complete all your business. An antivirus program without self-protection can be attacked by virus files and severely damaged.
