For many users, very often there is a need to transcode (change the format) of video files. The reasons can be completely different: the video was filmed on a mobile phone, but you need to watch it on a regular TV with a DVD player, or the film has too much size, etc. There are a lot of utilities and programs for video transcoding, from simple to professional. In this article, this issue will be considered using the example of one of the most common and not very complex programs Canopus ProCoder.

Necessary

Computer, Canopus ProCoder program, film

Instructions

Step 1

Install the Canopus ProCoder program on your personal computer. After installing the program, there will be 2 icons on your desktop: Canopus ProCoder and Canopus ProCoder Wizard. Use the second, so as not to delve into the intricacies of settings when preparing a movie for playback on a DVD player.

Step 2

Run the Canopus ProCoder Wizard and in the window that appears, click "Next", then, at the "Load Sourse" request, load the file you want to recode into the program and click "Next".

Step 3

In the window that appears, put a full stop in the first menu item (the work of the Wizard) and click "Next". In the next paragraph "Select Target" select DVD as the target of burning, click "Next" again and in the next window select the video format PAL. In the new menu select the file type for DVD - VOB and click "Next" as usual. In the next window, set the parameter of the resulting file: Bitrate - Constant bitrate. Click Next.

Step 4

Select the length of the movie: 60, 90 or 120 minutes. It should be noted here that the longer you want to fit on the disc, the worse the quality of the movie will be. In the next window, select Optimize for Quality. If you want, you can choose optimization for speed, in this case the process will proceed faster, but the quality will deteriorate. In the window that appears, specify a name for the new file to be created and click the "Convert" button. In the new window there will be a window showing the status of the file encoding process. The operation can always be interrupted by pressing the "Stop" button. After completing the process, click the "Finish" button.

Step 5

If you need to create a movie of a different format, for example MP4, then when performing the second step you need to select CD-ROM Video, but in this case you need to first understand the various video file formats.
