Creating an image of a disk assumes that this image will be used in the operating system as a storage medium. A disk image is an exact copy of a disk. But the disk image is contained in just one file, it is somewhat similar in structure to an archive. In order to install a disk image, you need to use a specialized program that was used to create the disk. You can also use another program to mount images, of which there are a sufficient number.
Necessary
Daemon Tools software, disk image
Instructions
Step 1
Disk images are most often found in the following formats - *.cue, *.mdf, *.nrg, *.iso, *.ccd. Let's look at an example of mounting a disk image (installation) using the Daemon Tools program as an example. Let's assume it's a game disc.
Step 2
Run the program. A circular lightning bolt icon appears on the right side of the taskbar. Right click on the lightning bolt icon.
Step 3
In the context menu that opens, select the Virtual CD / DVD-ROM item - then click Mount image - in the window that opens, search for the disk image file - then click the "OK" button.
Step 4
There are games that burn to multiple discs. If you have just such a game, there is no need to create several virtual drives at once. One drive will be enough. After installing the first disk, the installer will ask you to specify the path to another disk. In this case, you need to eject the first disk (“Unmount drive” command), and then specify the path to the next disk. In the installation program, click the "OK" button.
Step 5
After installing the video game, feel free to close the Daemon Tools program, having previously agreed with the request to save the emulation properties when exiting the program.
