At the moment, there is a large selection of different types of Internet connection. But most of them require a modem to be implemented. Internet service providers now either sell pre-configured modems or do the configuration themselves at home. However, it is often necessary to manually configure (or reconfigure) the modem yourself.

Instructions
Step 1
Bring up the Taskbar and click on the "Start" menu.

There should be a "Connect" button in this menu. Hover over it, and then a pop-up menu will appear on the right, containing a list of available Internet connections.
If the "Connection" tab in the "Start" menu is absent, you can enter the folder with the list of connections. To do this, open the Control Panel from the Start menu. In its lists there is a line "Network connections", on which you need to double-click the left mouse button. This will open a list of available connections.
Step 3
Select the connection you want to configure from the list and right-click on it once. In the list of actions that appears, stop at the "Properties" line.
Step 4
In the connection properties window that opens, open the "General" tab.
Step 5
On the "General" tab at the top you will see the "Connect via:" block. It provides a list of available modems, of which one should be checked.
Step 6
To call the modem settings, select the marked modem with one click with the left mouse button, and then click once on the "Configure" button, which is located below the list of available modems.
