Instructions

Step 1

Use the full description format for a book that is mentioned for the first time in the text. In this case, you must first indicate the author's surname, then the initials. Then write the full title of the book, which is listed under the cover. Write the city where the book was published after a period with a dash. Indicate the name of the city in full, except for such generally accepted abbreviations as "M." (Moscow), "SPb." (St. Petersburg), "L." (Leningrad). This is followed by the year of publication, the total number of pages or pages from which the information for citation was taken. As a result, the record will look something like this: “Ivanov A. V. Economy of Russia. - M., 1989. S. 15-16 ".

Step 2

Start a footnote with the title of the work, if its authors are not indicated, or the publication is a collection of several works. Then, through a slash, write down the composition of the editorial board, if it is known: “General laws of physics / ed. A. A. Orlov and S. S. Borisov. - M., 1990. S. 86 . If you want to place a footnote on any issue of a magazine or newspaper, after indicating the city and year of publication, write the issue number.

Step 3

Consider additional considerations when linking. For example, the author's name from a source in a foreign language is written in full, not in initials. If there is an official Russian translation of the name, please indicate it additionally in brackets. Also pay special attention to the indication of Internet sources. There are no uniform standards for their registration, so ask about this at your educational institution.
