The need to increase the system font of the Windows operating system is usually caused by the use of a large monitor resolution with a diagonal of 22 or more. This procedure is carried out in different ways in different OS versions.
Instructions
Step 1
Use the easiest way to enlarge the font of the Windows XP operating system. To do this, open the context menu of the computer desktop by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Properties" item. Go to the "Appearance" section and expand the "Font size" link. Select the required option and reboot the system to apply the changes made (for Windows XP version).
Step 2
Choose an alternative method for changing the Windows XP system font using the GUI. To do this, call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "Control Panel" item. Expand the "Display" link and go to the "Appearance" tab of the properties dialog box that opens. Expand the Font Size node and specify the desired value for the parameter (for Windows XP).
Step 3
In Windows 7 and Vista operating systems, font size can be increased by changing the DPI setting, i.e. dots per inch. To do this, open the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button, and go to the "Control Panel" item. Expand the Appearance and Personalization link and expand the Personalization node.
Step 4
Specify the command "Change font size (DPI)" and enter your administrator password in the corresponding field of the system prompt window that opens. Select the "Large scale (120 dpi)" option in the new "Scale" dialog box and confirm to save your changes by clicking OK (for Windows 7 and Vista).
Step 5
Download and install on your computer the specialized Font Resizer application, which is freely distributed on the Internet by Asus. The program allows you to simplify and automate the process of changing the system fonts of the Windows operating system of all versions. Launch the installed application and select the desired font size. The changes will be performed automatically.
