Step 1
If you already have a ready-made working local network with the specified parameters and you need to connect new equipment that does not meet the characteristics of the router, change the device parameters. Log in to the equipment web interface.

To do this, launch a browser on one of the computers connected to the router and fill in the address line with the IP address of the equipment. Most likely, this will require you to specify not the standard address of the router, but the IP that is currently being used.
Step 3
So that after changing the settings, the router continues to perform its functions efficiently, it is better not to change important parameters. Enable DHCP function if it is disabled. This operation will save time on setting up stationary computers and laptops that will be connected to the device.
Step 4
If you need to connect to new laptops whose wireless adapters are unable to work with your existing network, open the Wireless Setup menu. If you change the existing settings for the encryption and signaling protocols, for example, from 802.11g to 802.11n and WPA-PSK to WPA2-PSK, there is a high probability that laptops that were previously connected to the router will stop connecting to the Internet.

In this situation, it is better to proceed as follows: set mixed parameter types. Many routers allow you to enable the following features: 802.11b / g / n mixed and WPA / WPA2-PSK mixed. Take advantage of this opportunity to connect different types of devices.
Step 6
If you have purchased a router that has previously been used on a different network, we recommend that you completely delete the settings. To do this, press the Reset button located on the device body and hold it in this position for 5-10 seconds. Perform this operation with the device turned off.
