DVD is a very convenient source of information storage. Also, you can rewrite information on DVD discs repeatedly. However, this requires a DVD burner and an appropriate disc format, since not all DVDs can be recorded multiple times. Discs that can be recorded and then erased are in RW format. After the information is erased, new information can be recorded on this disc.
Necessary
Computer, DVD, Ahead Nero, Internet access
Instructions
Step 1
In order to erase information from DVD-RW discs, you must have a drive that supports writing information to discs (DVD +/- RW). You will also need a special program to delete information from disks. For today, the most convenient, understandable and functional program is Ahead Nero. Download this application and install it on your computer.
Step 2
After installing Ahead Nero, restart your computer and launch the application. After that, in the upper window of the program, you need to select the format of the disks with which it will work. To do this, click on the arrow in the upper window of the program. Select CD / DVD from the offered options. This way, you don't have to switch between different disc formats.
Step 3
Now take a close look at the program interface. There are six main parameters available. But clicking on one of them opens a window with additional commands. Select the Advanced option (furthest from the right side). Additional options for this command will appear. Now insert the DVD-RW disc you want to clean into your optical drive. Wait for the disc to spin up. If the disc autorun worked, close it.
Step 4
Now select the "Erase DVD" function. A window will appear warning that this process will erase all information on the DVD-RW disc. Click OK and the disk cleanup process will begin. Do not remove it from the optical drive before completing the cleaning operation, as this may damage the DVD disc and subsequently make it impossible to write information to it.
Step 5
Upon completion of the cleaning process, you will be informed about this in the program window. The DVD is now completely cleared, and you can write and delete information on it again, and you can do this repeatedly.
