In the Windows system, it is not possible to take a full-size screenshot from the video using standard tools - when switching to full-screen mode, the PrtSc button does not function. To take images from a video, you can use the corresponding function in the video player you are using or a specialized program.

Step 1
Many popular and fully functional Windows video players allow you to take a screenshot using their settings. If you are using Media Player Classic, to take a screenshot, just go to the File - Save Image menu or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl and I. After that, select the folder where you want to save the snapshot and click "Save".
Step 2
To capture a frame using the popular VLC player, you need to call a similar Video - Snapshot function in the top panel of the program. To specify the directory for saving screenshot files, go to Tools - Settings - Video. Under Video Snapshots, select a folder to save snapshot files.

You can use Movavi Video Editor to save a specific frame of your movie. Install this application by downloading the installer file from the official website of the program. Launch the application and add the desired video file from which you want to cut a specific frame using "File" - "Open". Use the scroll bar to select the desired fragment, and then go to the "Edit" - "Save current frame as image" menu. Frame saving is complete.

Among the utilities for taking screenshots, Free Screen Video Recorder can be noted. Install the program by downloading it from the developer's official website. After that, launch it through the appropriate menu item "Start" or using the icon on the desktop. On the toolbar, select the type of area you want to capture through the program: full screen, window, single object, or fixed area. Left-click on the area of the screen or application window you want to take a screenshot of. After that, the editor will open, in which you can change the created image and save it in one of the proposed formats.
