Replacing computer software is not an easy task. The easiest way is to reinstall the operating system. The software is usually changed due to its obsolescence, inadequacy to user requests, incorrect operation, and so on.
Necessary
distributions of programs that you want to install on your computer
Instructions
Step 1
Decide exactly how you will replace the software - completely with the operating system or just reinstall a few programs.
Step 2
If you want to change the computer software completely, then restart the computer, and when you turn it on, press the Esc key, set in the settings in the window that appears to boot from the floppy drive and save the changes.
Step 3
Insert the operating system disc into the drive. When the message “Press any key to boot from CD” appears on the monitor while booting the computer, press any key, and you will see the Windows installation menu. Read the terms of the agreement, accept the license agreement and click "Next".
Step 4
Select the partition to install the operating system, select the installation mode - with disk formatting or replacing files. Keep in mind that formatting will destroy all data on the disk, so you'd better save it to removable media beforehand.
Step 5
Following the instructions of the operating system installation menu, complete all the necessary settings: enter the organization name, computer name, administrator password, set the time zone and create a Windows user account.
Step 6
Install drivers on all devices available in the configuration. They are usually supplied with the computer in the form of disks. Install the software one by one on the motherboard, video card, sound device, modems, printers, cameras, and more.
Step 7
Install a good antivirus program to protect your computer's file system from infection and malware, such as Norton, Nod or Kaspersky Anti-Virus.
Step 8
Install the applications you need to work from existing disks or downloading them from the Internet. It is best to enable software updates when installing.
Step 9
If you are just going to replace a few applications on your computer, open the "Control Panel", go to the "Add or Remove Programs" menu, find in the list those you want to replace. Select them, click the "Delete" button. The uninstall process may take several minutes. Then restart your computer and reinstall the programs you need to work.
