When creating collages in graphic editors, one of the most frequent operations performed by a designer is to extract and insert a fragment of one image into another. Often you just need to add a picture to the composition. This can be done in Adobe Photoshop.
Necessary
- - Adobe Photoshop;
- - two files with images.
Instructions
Step 1
Load the main image file into Adobe Photoshop. To do this, select the "Open …", "Open As …" item in the File section of the main application menu, press the Ctrl + O or Ctrl + Alt + Shift + O keys on the keyboard. A dialogue will be displayed. Navigate in it to the desired medium, and then to the directory with the file. Highlight the file in the list. Click Open.
Step 2
Open the picture you want to add in the editor. Follow the steps similar to those described in the first step.
Step 3
Copy the added picture to the clipboard. Switch to the window with the desired image. Select the entire contents of the transferred image. To do this, expand the Select section in the main application menu and select the All item. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + A. Choose Copy from the Edit menu or press Ctrl + V on your keyboard to copy the selection to the clipboard.
Step 4
Add the picture to a new layer in the first document. Switch to the required window. Press the key combination Ctrl + V or in the main menu in the Edit section select Paste.
Step 5
Adjust the position and size of the added picture if necessary. Press Ctrl + T or from the Edit menu choose Free Transform. Press the Maintain Aspect Ratio button located in the top panel if you need to maintain the aspect ratio of the image during the transformation. Use the mouse to move the edges and corners of the appeared frame to resize the picture and rotate it. Using the inner area, the image can be moved.
Step 6
Save the resulting image. Press the Ctrl + Shift + S keys or expand the File section in the main menu, and then click on the "Save As …" item. In the Format list of the Save As dialog, make the current item corresponding to the target image data storage format. Go to the directory where you want to save the file, enter its name. Click the Save button.
