Instructions

Step 1

Open Windows Movie Maker. It can be found by going to the Start menu, Programs, and then clicking on the Windows Movie Maker button. The app will create a new project.

Step 2

Import the video into the program. Click on the "Import Media" button in the upper left corner of the Movie Maker screen and use the navigator to import audio and video files. Once identified by the program, they will appear in the "Imported files" section.

Step 3

Select the files and drag them to the Storyboard. Each file will appear on the panel: at the top - video, at the bottom - audio.

Step 4

Click and hold the left mouse button on the audio track. Drag it from left to right or vice versa. By doing this, you will change its position in relation to the video. Experiment and find the best option when the audio is fully synchronized with the video. This may take a few minutes. Make sure the timing is accurate. Once you place the audio track, start the video preview and check it out.

Step 5

Click File, then Save Movie. Use the system explorer to select the directory where the video will be uploaded. Enter the file name and its type - AVI, MPEG or WMV, which are valid. Click on the "Save" button. Your synced video is now exported.

Step 6

Use one of the other professional video editing programs of your choice. Adobe Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas are both easy to use and provide their free trials of the software. Import the AVI file and drag it to the timeline using the mouse or by choosing “File” and “Import” from the main menu.

Step 7

Right-click on the audio track from the video and press the Unlink key to unlock it and allow it to move along the timeline. Watch the video to see how syncing is progressing. Zoom in on the ruler to fit the audio more closely. When finished, save the video and enjoy watching it.
