The image on the monitor is perhaps one of those characteristics of the system that every user wants to improve. And the process of this renewal has no boundaries. But before upgrading equipment or looking for fresh drivers, you should look at the parameters of the video card installed in the computer.
Instructions
Step 1
A video card is a board that converts computer signals into a picture familiar to every user on the monitor screen. And, like any other device, it is identified by a computer. To see the parameters of the video card, go to the "Device Manager" ("Control Panel" - "Device Manager"). Expand the list of "Video adapters" and you will see the model name of the installed video card. Going into its properties, look at information about drivers, parameters of used memory, general information and dev-codes of the device.
Step 2
You can view the parameters of the video card that relate directly to the display of the image on the monitor through the "Display Settings" also from the "Control Panel" In the options window, click the "Advanced" button. You will see the monitor and video card properties window, which consists of several tabs. Go to the video adapter settings tab, which usually appears after installing the original drivers from the manufacturer. There you will find options for adjusting color, video overlay, quality, resolution, refresh rate, and more.
Step 3
Another option to look in detail at the parameters of the video card is to use special programs that identify the installed computer equipment. One of the most famous programs of this kind is Everest. After installing and running it, you will see the main window, on the left side of which there is a tree-like menu, grouped by enlarged parameters. By selecting the "Display" item, you will see detailed information about the video card installed on the computer.
