Sometimes there is a situation when you need to write a file to a medium, and the file size is only a few megabytes larger than the standard size, for example, a DVD. But this problem can be solved. Although the size of a disc of any format is strictly fixed, this does not mean that more information cannot be recorded on it.

Instructions

Step 1

In order to be able to write more information to the disc, your optical drive must support this option. To do this, download the full version of the Nero program. With it, you can find out. Also, Nero will be needed directly to write files to disk.

Step 2

Start the Nero Burning ROM program component. Select Recorder from the menu, then Choose Recorder from the secondary menu. In the window that appears, click on the model of your optical drive. Next, find the line Overbur. If the value of this line says Supported, then you can write more information to disk. If there is nothing there, then your drive will not be suitable for such purposes.

Step 3

If your drive supports the Overbur option, you can proceed to the next step. From the Nero Burning ROM menu, select File, then Preferences. Then go to the General tab. In the window that appears, mark all the items with a checkbox and click "Apply". Now go to the Expert Features tab and in the window that appears, select the checkboxes Enable overburn disc-at-once burning and Enable DVD overburn.

Step 4

Then select File from the Nero Burning ROM menu, then New File. Then add the files you want to burn to disk. Proceed further. In the next window, go to the Multisession tab and check the box next to No Multisession.

Step 5

Go to the BURN tab and in the ACTION section check the two bottom items. There is an arrow opposite the Write speed line. Click on this arrow and select the slowest recording speed. Now you can start recording. To do this, press the BURN button. A dialog box will appear informing you whether to use Overburn technology. In this window, select the Write Overburn Disc option. The process of writing information to the disc will begin. The process will be slower than usual.
