QIP is one of the most popular online messenger programs. It is designed to exchange text messages and files with other users of similar programs (ICQ, Jabber, Miranda, MSN, etc.) in real time.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch Qip and find the desired user in the contact list. Right-click on the found line in the list and select Send File from the pop-up context menu. As a result, a standard file search dialog will open.
Step 2
Find the file on your computer that you want to transfer to this user, select it and click the "Open" button. The sending process will start and a window will appear on the screen with the title "File transfer" and information about its current state. There are two buttons in this window, one of which is designed to interrupt the process ("Cancel"), and by pressing the other ("Close") you will need to close this window at the end of the file transfer process. The "Cancel" button will also be present in the message window of this user all the time the file is being transferred.
Step 3
Wait for the "Download complete" message to appear in the information window and click the "Close" button. The messenger will automatically send the recipient a link to the downloaded file - it will be stored on the Qip server. You can copy this link in the message window and use it at your discretion - for example, instead of repeating the entire procedure, send it to some other recipient of this file.
Step 4
There is another way of transmission - through the message box. Select the desired user in the contact list and double-click to open the message window. A number of icons are placed above the text entry field - a blue picture with an arrow is intended for sending a file. You can open the drop-down list attached to it and choose either to send the file through the Qip server (“Send files via file.qip.ru”), or without such an intermediary server (“Send files directly”). In the first case, everything will proceed as described in the previous step, and the second will require the recipient of the file to give his consent to accept the incoming connection.
