However, there are times, especially when playing the online shooter Counter-strike, when the microphone does not work as it should (echo, hiss, breaks, etc.). The first thing you should do is connect your microphone correctly. First of all, insert its wire. Connect it next to the speaker connector, most often it is located there, or find the required socket at the back of the system unit. To start a conversation, press the K key (in the English layout), this key is on by default. But it is quite far from the buttons commonly used in this game. In this case, set up another one that is convenient for you. Speak through the microphone clearly and clearly, but do not shout. This will exceed a certain audio threshold and only create noise. Talking too quietly won't work either, so figure out the middle ground yourself.

Next, get rid of the hiss of the microphone. You can try, as an option, to take it away from the face, but this method does not always help. Your best bet is to download the Realtek HD audio driver. After installing it, your voice will be quite "clean" and clear. If you do not want to install this driver, try lowering the sound level. To do this, start Counter-Strike, go to "Settings", then to "Voice" and, finding the phrase "Transmission volume", move the slider to the left. Check the microphone for CS sound. To do this, create your own server where the game is played with bots, and enter the command voice_loopback 1 into the console. To stop hearing your own voice again, write the same command, but with the value set to 0 (zero).

In the event that you want to make additional adjustments and make the sound even clearer, study the following settings: voice_maxgain 1 - changes the maximum amount of game engine gain applied to the voice, thereby smoothing it out. Accepts a value from 1 to 5. voice_avggain 1 - equalizes the voice wave, that is, noise suppression occurs; voice_scale number - sets the volume level of the speakers' voices; voice_fadeouttime 0, 100 - this command affects the fading time of your voice; voice_enable 1 - this parameter enables and turns off the voice function.
