Viruses can be one of the most likely causes of file loss. To combat them, many applications called antiviruses have been created. However, they cannot guarantee that malware will not infiltrate your computer. Once in the system, the virus damages files on the PC. In this case, you can try to restore them.

Necessary

  • - R-studio program;
  • - the Recuva program.

Instructions

Step 1

File recovery software can be of invaluable help. One such application is R-studio. Download and install the program on your computer.

Step 2

Open the app. Then, on the left side of its interface, right-click on the desired local disk (where the files were damaged) and in the menu that appears, select Scan (a function for a full disk scan).

Step 3

Next, check the box next to Extra Search for Known File Types and Detailed (Scan progress and found objects. Slower.). This action selects the search for known file types and the granular scan. Click Scan. After completing this action, a window with multi-colored squares will appear on the right, by which you can judge the progress of the scanning process.

Step 4

When the scan is over, you will see a list of files to recover. There will also be displayed the inscription Recognized with the numbers written behind it. Press the F5 key in one of the folders that appears to view its contents. In the window that opens, all that remains is to check the boxes next to the folders and files that need to be restored. The last item will be clicking the left mouse button on Recover, then Ok.

Step 5

You can also use other programs such as the Recuva app. Download, install, and then open its window and select the type of files that need to be restored.

Step 6

Determine the approximate scope of your search. Select advanced or general search, and then start the scanning process. The result will be shown as a table with basic file data. Various status indicators will be shown in one of 3 colors: red (almost impossible to recover); yellow (in the case of small chances of correction) and green (the result is likely to be successful).

Step 7

Start the process of saving files by clicking the "Recover" button, and then copy them to any local disk or removable media. At the end of the operation, the program will inform you about the number of recovered files.
