In the Microsoft Office software package in the Microsoft Word application, the user can create his own text documents. As a rule, tabular data are often used in working word documents, which are poorly readable. Therefore, the Microsoft Word text editor has the function of inserting a pivot chart based on an existing table into a document.
Instructions
Step 1
Start Microsoft Word and open the text file in which you want to insert the graph. To do this, click the "File" button in the upper main menu of the program and select the "Open" line in the list that appears. In the dialog box that opens, select the directory where the required document is located, select it and click the "Open" button.
Step 2
In the main top menu of Microsoft Word, activate the "Insert" tab. It shows the main parameters for inserting various elements into the text of the document, for example, pictures, diagrams, tables, inscriptions, etc.
Step 3
On the open tab, find and click once with the left mouse button on the "Diagram" button. This will open the "Insert Chart" dialog box, on the right side of which the types of available charts are displayed, and in the viewing area - their subtypes.
Step 4
If you need to insert a chart into the text of the document, in the list on the right, select the chart type - "Chart", and in the viewing area the required chart subtype and click the "OK" button. After that, an example of the selected chart will appear in the text of the document, and a Microsoft Excel window with the data used for the chart will open.
Step 5
Enter your initial data for plotting into the sheet of the opened Microsoft Excel document. Data can be copied from Microsoft Word spreadsheet or entered manually. In this case, it is necessary to reassign the range of the original data by clicking the "Change data" button on the tab of the main menu "Constructor" in the "Working with charts" block.
Step 6
In the "Working with charts" block, select the necessary settings for the chart display parameters (for example, the type of chart, its style, position in the text, etc.).
Step 7
Graphs created in other programs can be inserted into a text document as a picture. To do this, on the "Insert" tab, click the "Picture" button and select the saved chart image. After that, the selected chart will appear in the text of the document, and if necessary, you can drag it to any place or change its size.
